Year 2 Important Dates Spring Term 2024
PE
This term, children in Base 5 and Base 6 have their PE lessons on a
Monday – Swimming
Wednesday – Orienteering and Cricket (outdoor)
Children will need a PE kit consisting of a plain white t-shirt and plain black shorts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms, as well as trainers or pumps.
Written or verbal explanation from you should be given to the class teacher, prior to the PE session, if your child is not participating. It is also important to note that no jewellery is permitted during physical education sessions. If your child is wearing jewellery they will be responsible for removing and storing their own jewellery. Our advice is that children do not wear any jewellery on their P.E. days.
Homework
Reading logs and weekly spellings will be put in Home school diaries on a Monday and handed in on a Friday. Maths homework will be found in the KS1 Maths Workout booklets. The date will be recorded at the top of each Workout so that you can see the focus for the week. Children are expected to bring their home school diaries into school every day so that reading can be logged. Don’t forget to sign your child’s reading record page to show that they have read at home!
