Spring Term 1st Half:

This half term, we will be reading stories by the author Oliver Jeffers. The children will enjoy retelling and innovating the stories we have read. In Maths, we will be recalling our multiplication knowledge to support us with our work on division.

In Science, we will be exploring animal habitats and will use our school environment to observe microhabitats. The children will use research to find out how animals are best suited to their habitat.

In Music, the children will have an opportunity to explore an instrument. A music teacher will visit the school each week to support the children in their learning of playing the glockenspiel.

In D&T, the children will be designing and making a space rover using wheels and axles to help their final product move.

In PE, we will be starting weekly swimming lessons on Mondays and will take part in orienteering on a Wednesday.

What a busy half-term we have ahead of us in Year 2!
