Year 4 Parent Workshop
Year 4 invited their parents and Governors to an exciting afternoon of Computer Science. Following the work on robotics and Microbits with ICT consultant, Mr Richard Smith, the children showed parents how to use these mini computers to write code and create LED messages. The parents were amazed at how fantastic the children were at writing algorithms and debugging.
Parents and Governors then stayed to listen to Mr Smith’s E-Awareness workshop. Parents discussed concerns that they had about how their children use the internet at home and Mr Smith was able to offer useful advice and guidance. Mrs Lakin spoke to parents about how the school’s Digital Literacy curriculum teaches children how to use the internet safely.
