‘Celebrating Differences’

Our Tuesday assembly focus for this term will be celebrating differences and diversity across the school. As part of this we will be learning about different families, what makes a person unique and challenging stereotypes. This relates well to our school vision.

We will be encouraging every pupil to talk about themselves and their family and what makes them special. We want to celebrate all families, and we know that families can be complex and very different.  We are also celebrating the many ways in which we are unique and different and in doing so challenging gender and stereotypes in school. We will be challenging the language that can be used to “put people down”.
