William Reynolds - What are we Learning this Term?

Our whole school theme this term is ‘Reach for the Stars’

Spring 1st half

This half term we will be learning all about our world with a focus on penguins and polar bears. We will be reading fiction and non-fiction books about Antarctica and the Arctic. We will be finding out about the 7 continents and learning to name the surrounding seas. As part of this unit we will find out about famous explorers and expeditions to the North and South Poles. In art we will be creating 3d sculptures of some of the animals we have been learning about.

In PE, we will be going swimming and gaining more confidence in the water. We will also be creating a penguin dance as part of our indoor PE lessons.

Spring 2nd half

During this half term we will be learning about ‘Space’. In History, we will learn about space travel in the past and how it has changed over time.  As part of our Literacy work we will be writing reports about the different planets and we will also be finding about the history of space travel. We will use green screen technology to film our own sapce reports and animations. Swimming will continue this half term so that we can become really confident in the water.
