William Reynolds - What are we Learning this Term?

During this half term, Literacy will be taught alongside Geography and will mainly be focused on the Mountain Environment. In Mathematics we will continue to focus on ensuring complete recall of our times tables; help in supporting your child learn these at home on an ongoing basis is appreciated. We will also learn how to solve problem with missing numbers, and use formulae. During Science, we will look light and shadows. Children will understand how light travels; forms shadows; is reflected and can be manipulated.

PE will be dodgeball on Wednesdays and Outdoor and Adventurous on Thursdays.

Outdoor PE: Thursday afternoon

Indoor PE: Wednesday afternoon.

(Please bring trainers for both sessions as we will go outside if the weather is good)

We like children to bring their PE kits in on a Monday morning and keep them in school for the week, taking them home for a wash on a Friday. This means that if there is time for extra physical activity or a last minute change of plan, the children will be prepared.

Reminder P.E kits: Please can you ensure that your child either wears the school PE kit or black shorts with a plain white t-shirt for PE lessons.

Homework will be put in home school diaries on a Monday and handed in on a Friday.

Children should bring their home school diaries in each day.

Homework will include :

Spellings (which the children should learn throughout the school week. A set of these should be completed each day)

Numeracy (To be completed by Friday.)

Reading Logs (Try to listen to your child read at least once a week and complete the reading log.)

Bug Club encourages your child to read and can be accessed at home. Please date this on the reading log.

Sometimes other appropriate homework will be set for the children. Our aim is for ALL children to complete their homework regularly.
